Happy Time Week Assessment: Bangkok

I have been here for about a week so here are the quick plus and minuses... +Street food: Super cheap, easy to find, amongst the best in the world. +Thai people: So far they have been really good to me. There are scammers and the like but I'm prepared for most. Besides, if they scam you it's usually for something like $5 when you should have paid $1. +Wifi everywhere: I have a tablet and this has been super useful. It varies in speed but at The Australia Pub they had a ~20 mbps connection. Great for Skype if you can find a quiet time. +Clothes: Brand name stuff at low prices. I guess it's all made here so it's real. Whatever doesn't get sold in the States gets sold at bargain prices in Thailand. +BTS Skytrain: Cheap, fast, safe, and air-conditioned. They made it pretty easy for Westerners to understand. -Heat: If you've never been to this part of the world before you are in for a shock at how hot it is. This usually forces one into the many air-conditioned shopping malls. -Septic smells: Much like TJ or any city like that there can be strong septic smells. It's a bit like parts of Los Angeles and I imagine New York has this. I imagine this city is quite bigger than New York. My friend tells me that people are born in Bangkok and never get to experience 100% of the city.
